Attack on Lankan cricket team:
Pakistan nabs suspect
Pakistan police Tuesday claimed they have
detained the main suspect allegedly involved in the attack on the
Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore last year. The middle-aged
suspect, identified as Qari Abdul Wahab alias Qari Umer, was caught
from the Raiwind area of Lahore for masterminding the attack on the
visiting Sri Lanka cricket in March 2009, police added.

Prisoner database
All convicted prisoners' details will be
computerised by the Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms Ministry.The
computerizing process will commence within a few weeks. This will be
on an advice of Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms Minister
Chandrasiri Gajadeera, Ministry Secretary A Disanayake said.

Somali pirates hijack Malaysian flagged ship
Sri Lankans among crew:
A Malaysian flagged ship with a 23 member crew
including Sri Lankans have been hijacked by the Somali pirates. The
MV Albedo container vessel was en route to Kenya from the United
Arab Emirates when it was hijacked about 900 nautical miles east of
the Somali coast.
