Ishara Jayawardane
Tyrone Maddumage is a man determined to make a name for himself in
the field of music. He has already put out four albums. He put out his
first album during 1990-1991. When you speak to Tyrone you are
immediately struck by his sense of modesty. He is actually a man of few
words when in conversation.

He has put out several songs such as Kotte, Ae Tharakavi and
Abhimanai Maw Lanka with the Sri Lankan cricketers. He has been in the
profession for 22 years. Those long years of toil and he deserves
recognition from the music fraternity.
"I started my singing when I was a small child. Firstly I was in the
Sacred Heart Church Rajagiriya choir. I developed my singing at that
time," said Tyrone.
"I hope to start a film production house. I have a Western Live band
called Red Fire and an Oriental band called Sathya and a three piece
band. I am also a DJ. I have an audio video recording and editing
studio. If there is anybody who wants to sing a new song, any style,
they can call me". Tyrone added.
Tyrone lives at 64/D Udumulla Rd, Shanthi lane, Battaramulla.
His song called Kotte is a song of his own words. Kotte is a place
with a huge history and he is the first person to have done such a song.
"I have done the audio track of Kotte. I want to visualize this. I
want sponsorship to visualize this song and put it on television. I
can't do that without sponsorship." Tyrone explained. His fifth album,
Hasun Thalawe, will be launched in December. He has sung over 50 songs. |
