Doctor up to mischief in trouble

A doctor attached to the Hemmathagama Government Hospital was arrested by officers of the Sri Lanka United Child Protection Authority yesterday for allegedly taking nude and half nude photographs and video chips of school girls and young women visiting his private dispensary for medical treatment.

A sporkesman for the Authority said the doctor is alleged to have taken photographs of girls through a hidden camera fixed in his consultation room after getting them to remove their top garments on the pretext of examining them.

A CD containing photographs allegedly taken by him had fallen to the hands of Central Provincial Council member Mrs Shanthini Kongahage and she had alerted the Child Protection Authority about it.
