Annual Congress

The 22nd Annual Congress of the Postgraduate Institute of Agriculture (PGIA) University of Peradeniya will be held on November 25 and 26 at the Plant Genetic Resources Centre in Gannoruwa, Peradeniya.

Canadian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Bruce Lev will be the Chief Guest. Dr. Terrence Madhujith will coordinate the Annual Congress 2010. Prof A L T Perera is the Postgraduate Institute of Agriculture Director.

Three invited presentations are also included among the Congress presentations. Prof Jaime Prohens, from the Institute for Conservation and Improvement of Agrodiversity of Valencia Polytechnical University, Spain will make a presentation on 'Application of Modern Biotechnological Tools for Plant Breeding."

Dr. Mylvakanam Iyngararasan from the United Nations Environment Programe (UNEP) , Kenya will make a presentation on 'Short-lived Pollutants and Climate Change' Animal Production
