Encouraging young talent

Nurturing children's creativity is vital today. They need to be
taught that the rat race for success is not the formula of success. One
needs to allocate time to explore One's power of imagination as well as
to enjoy the lighter side of life.
Art Way looks towards enhancing this prospect in children when they
decided to showcase 'First Step', a children's art exhibition to mark
the institution's first anniversary. The event will take place at Art
Way Gallery, No 66, Old Kasbewa Road, Nugegoda, from November 25 to
December 2. 'First Step' will be opened by Sri Lankan Chinese Embassy
Cultural Section Head Shen Ming on November 24 at 3 pm.
Art Way Gallery |
Established in 2009, Art Way Gallery is one of the leading galleries
in the island which had played its part in producing multi-talented
artists to the field. Visitors are able to get a unique taste of art
while exploring a variety of art forms, enhancing their knowledge on the
subject and even purchase a few stunning works painted by emerging
artists.
Art has always been an important aspect of Sri Lanka. History
embodies evidence that it was a highly respected profession in the
country. Rock paintings and temple murals are proofs that our ancestors
had high aesthetic taste. The country filled with artistic value and
natural beauty is a paradise for art lovers and many artists have drawn
their inspiration from the people and landscapes in their masterpieces.
Art is an important feature in the tourism industry. With the new found
freedom more people are eager to dally with their creative skills. Art
Way Gallery had noticed this change and had hastened to provide them
with opportunities to exhibit their talent.
The institution also conducts classes, workshops and exhibitions on
art and is taking steps towards merging with the international art
arena. They aim to conduct international exhibitions and workshops to
strengthen the local and international connections while preserving the
Sri Lankan identity in the works. |
