Shot using a Sony Digital EX1 camera Theja revolves around a series of incidents connected with the life of the working class in the apparel industry. Produced with a comparably low budget, the movie had completed post production in Dilman Studio.

“Normally Sri Lankan directors fly to India to put the finishing touches to their films. Theja is the first local film to conclude its post production facilities in a local studio,” said Fernando who will fly to India to take part in the event. She also added that Sri Lanka is armed with the latest technological devices to wrap producing a movie.

Theja stars Nita Fernando in lead role along with actors Mahendra Perera, Irangani Serasinghe, Sujani Menaka, Anuruddhika Padukkage and Chamila Piries. It is directed by Nilantha Hapanveera and produced by Nita Fernando, Thilanka Perera and Mahil Perera on behalf of Mayura Cine Ru Productions.
