Gifts for Nov 18 babies

The Health Ministry will present gifts to babies born on November 18, 2010. A gift pack worth over Rs 7,500 will be given to all new born babies to mark President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s birthday, a Health Ministry spokesman said.

According to the spokesman the program, Mihimeth Suwadaru is launched on the direction of Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena. All babies born in both State and private hospitals are eligible to receive this gift pack. The Health Ministry requested parents of all new born babies to send their details to the Additional Secretary (Development), Health Ministry, 385, Baddegama Wimalawansa Thera Mawatha, Colombo 10 to obtain the gift pack, he said.

All babies born on November 18 in both State and private hospitals in the future will receive this gift pack. Around 1,500 babies are born in Sri Lanka every day. Gift packs will be given to around 1,500 babies born on November 18, he added.
