Israel attacks Gaza
West Bank: Israeli tanks and planes bombed the Gaza Strip for
the second consecutive day, targeting residential areas, public
facilities, resistance strongholds and underground tunnels, after
similar attacks injured six people Friday.
Witnesses said Israeli planes supported by ground artillery attacked
the Yasser Arafat airport in Gaza, which had fallen into disuse in the
wake of destruction caused by Isareli bombs during the second Intifada
in the year 2000.
The Israeli Army denied that its objective was to launch missiles at
the useless airport, but said it used flares because of heavy fog.
The incursion of unmanned planes early Saturday morning was the
second in the past 24 hours, after three attacks were launched Friday,
wounding six Palestinians.
