Drunk drivers see red

Licences of three persons were canceled and five others were fined Rs 7,500 each and sentenced to one month's imprisonment suspended for two years when they were found guilty of driving under the influence of liquor. Balangoda Magistrate and District Judge Namal Bandara Balalle imposed the sentences.

They were arrested during a traffic check by the Balangoda Police Traffic Unit.
