Remanded for transporting cannabis at Rajanganaya

A person was taken into custody by Rajanganaya police at Pahala Maragahawewa junction, Rajanganaya while he was transporting cannabis. The police found 6.5 kilograms of cannabis in the possession of the 44 year old suspect. The police conducted the raid following a tip-off.

According to the Rajanganaya police, the suspect is a resident of Thanamalvila. Police believe that the suspect probably had been engaging in transporting cannabis to various places from Thanamalvila.

The suspect was produced before the Tambuttegama Magistrate and the magistrate ordered that the suspect be remanded. Rajanganaya police are investigating.
