Sri Lankan Haj pilgrims safe

Western Province Governor and Sri Lankan Haj pilgrim delegation Head Alavi Mowlana speaking to the Daily News from Mecca yesterday denied media reports that there were instances of stone throwing near their camp at Mina.

The Sri Lankan delegation is safe and secure as the Saudi Arabian authorities have provided all necessary facilities, he said.

Two Sri Lankan pilgrims had died due to natural causes and they were buried there, Mowlana added.
