Ministerial sub committee recommendations:

President to seek Cabinet approval

President Mahinda Rajapaksa will present the Ministerial Sub Committee recommendations which looked into the problems faced by investors to the Cabinet for approval.

The Ministerial Sub Committee which looked into the problems and impediments faced by the investors was presented to President Rajapaksa yesterday.

Committee Chairman and Deputy Finance Minister Dr Sarath Amunugama presented the report to the President.

These recommendations are to be implemented after obtaining the Cabinet approval for providing more opportunities to the foreign investors in Sri Lanka and promoting the country’s economy.

The Committee has done an extensive study on the problems and impediments faced by the investors and regulations pertinent to investments.

The Committee has also studied the issues relating to the release of lands for business ventures and granting of investment licences for prospective investors.

Economic Development Deputy Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena, Deputy Public Administration Minister Dilan Perera, Environment Deputy Minister Faizer Mustapha and National Heritage Deputy Minister Gunaratne Weerakoon were present.
