EMP Engineering Chairman Chandananda Diyunage said this investment
will be utilized to fix robotic and CNC machines imported from Germany
and Japan.
A new building also will be constructed to install the new machinery
and equipment. Diyunage said that a construction boom is expected with
President Rajapaksa's second term of assuming duties.
He hoped the Government will give opportunities to the local
construction sector deviating from the present situation which will help
to develop the country's economy and to improve the living standards of
Sri Lankan people.
EMP Engineering exports its products to the Maldives, India and other
EU countries.
The company does not have the capacity to manufacture the full demand
that the international market requires.
The new expansion will create 100 new employment opportunities while
increasing production capacity by four times more which will increase
export income as well.
The company has already provided more than 100 job opportunities. The
company will be able to introduce several new products that are imported
currently and once the expansion is completed a large amount of foreign
exchange spent on these imports could be reduced, the Chairman said.
EMP Engineering has over 20 years experience in manufacturing high
quality electric switch boards and cable systems and accessories for
commercial and industrial requirements.
