 Harshi Asanga

Harshi Asanga Senaviratne's Arangethram will be held at Bishop's College auditorium on November 14 at 6.30 pm. Minister P Dayaratne will be the chief guest.

A product of Milagiriya St Paul's College, Harshi had shown her inborn talent for dance and acting form a tender age. She ventured into dance by taking up Kandyan dancing from Aruna Samarakoon at school. Later she was trained by her sister Sakura Asangika Senaviratne on Bartha Natyam.

She had also played a significant role in the school drama sector and debate team. Harshi had won gold medals at the dance and drama competitions conducted by IIMSD in 2005 and 2007 in the Baratha Natyam, Sinhala folk dance and Indian folk dance categories and had bagged the all island top rank. She even portrayed a role in Nalaka Swarnatilake's Anne.

Harshi is one of the oldest students at Sakura and Dimuthu's Sandisi Rangara dance academy. She had performed with the troupe in all parts of the island and in foreign cities like Washington and New York.
