"We are looking at aviation, tourism, general trade and other special
projects such as renewable energy. We plan to conduct discussions with
officials to assess options available, Jordan Tourism and Aviation
Council Head Capt Mohammad Al Khashman told Daily News Business.
Plans are underway to set up an aviation training school for pilots,
engineers and mechanics. The investment opportunities in ground
transport including tourism buses and the hotel sector will be looked at
for further development of the country. "Sri Lanka is a good country for
investment and the time is right. The country is one of the biggest
destinations in the global tourist map. We can help to promote Sri Lanka
through the Arab Tourist Board and the Arab Aviation Council," he said.
"We are the biggest charter service in the Middle East and have 17
aeroplanes. We also engage in leasing aircraft and look forward to
contribute to Sri Lanka's aviation industry. We will be able to bring in
more investment due to the fruitful relationship with Sri Lanka".
"The country will benefit from these investments as it could create
employment and production for rapid economic development," he said. - SJ
