Vietnam cracks down on tax evasion
Vietnam: Vietnam tracks thousands of companies and businesses
in default for billions of dong-worth taxes.
Fiscal fraud and tax evasion is major worry in large cities whose
trade architecture change during periods of grace to tax payers, making
traders unreliable reference in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, where a
large cosmetics boutiques can mutate into a carburator store by down.
A regular trick consists of requesting a period of grace for income
taxes, import large volumes of products and elope as the deadline closes
in.
Cat Lai customs has discovered many such cases, including some whose
debt rounds two billion dongs.
In other cases, felons register as company directors illiterates who
rent their ID cards for menials and without knowing the true purpose,
becoming later scapegoats. Delayed tax payment policy that encourages
tax evasion exposes missing regulations and missing effective fraud
detection enforcement. Hanoi, Prensa Latina |
