Colombo BC storm into final

The defending champions Colombo BC powered their way into the final with a rousing 72 points to 51 victory over Sri Lanka Police BC in their Carlton 2010 inter club 'A' division basketball tournament third playoff match worked off under lights at the Depot Police Courts in Bambalapitiya yesterday.

However Colombo BC were trailing 33-36 at the half way mark but came back strongly in the second quarter to turn the game in their favour.

Star player Roshan Fernando (20) made a fine impact with his consistent shooting while Roshan Randima (19) and Harshadeva de Silva (19) provided excellent support.

Police BC of course took the initiative and dominated the first half through the individual brilliance of Sujith Master (19). But in the second half they failed to consolidate their position with only Sujeewa Koluwina (8) making any significant contribution.

Colombo BC will now take on Carlton BC in the 'A' division final which is scheduled to be worked off at the same venue on Saturday. CD
