Police assist Gama Neguma

The Police Department assisted the Gama Neguma program in the Central Province by completing development work valued at Rs 12,215,119 in the Central Province under the direction of the Central Province DIG's (Western) office.

This has benefited 87 Grama Niladhari Divisions in nine police divisions, said DIG (Central Province West) Pujith Jayasundera.

The work included the construction and renovation of rural roads and canals and the improvement of infrastructure facilities in schools, hospitals, community centres, playgrounds and places of religious worship, he said.

Police had received financial contributions from State and private institutions for these labour intensive projects conducted with the assistance of civil security committees.
