Old Peterites victorious

Old Peterites BC put up a fine performance to beat Carlton BC Blues by 69 points to 61 points in their Carlton Cup 2010 inter club basketball tournament match worked off at the Depot Police Courts in Bambalapitiya yesterday.

The winners built up a commanding 31-23 lead at half time and then went on to consolidate their position in the second half with Lakshan Samarasinghe (26) playing a dominant role towards their success. In addition Prince Andre provided the back up support for the Old Peterites while excelling in both attack and defence.

Meanwhile the clash between Colombo BC and Sri Lanka Navy BC was abandoned due to bad weather at the same venue. Colombo BC enjoyed a slender 43-38 lead when the game was halted having earlier led 29-27 at the half way mark.
