Former Olympic shuttler and National Champion Thilini Jayasinghe put up a sparkling display to win a double at the Central Province Open Badminton Championship organized by the Sri Lanka Badminton Association and the Central Province Badminton Association and concluded at St Anthony’s College courts, Katugastota yesterday night.

She later won the mixed doubles title partnered by Hasitha Chanaka to beat Lasitha Menaka and Nadeesha Gayathri 21-16, 16-21 and 21-19 to complete the double.

The men’s singles finals turned out to be a non-starter as No 1 seeded Diluka Karunaratne conceded a walk over to No 2 seeded Lasitha Menaka on grounds of a leg injury.
