artiste he had performed an irreparable role for Sri Lankan cinema and
NFC. He was involved in many areas in the Corporation’s work and
embodied a vast knowledge about the film industry. He was well-suited to
be the liaison between artistes and the corporation because he
understood the hearts and minds of the people,” Abeysinghe said adding
that Sangadasa could be dubbed as the Dukganna Rala of the local film
scene.
“He is indispensable and played his role effectively. I planned to
carry out activities with him as the project coordinator. All the
artistes are saddened by his death. We wish to pay the highest respects
to him. I request all the artistes to take part in the funeral
procession as a mark of respect for him,” he added.
