EngEx 2010, the exhibition of the Peradeniya University Engineering
Faculty is drawing huge crowds. Over 4,000 persons visited it yesterday,
the first day of the exhibition, Engineering Faculty Dean Prof S B
Weerakoon said.
This is the first such exhibition in ten years. It coincide with the
60th anniversary of the Engineering Faculty.
The exhibition designed with the objective of providing a broad
knowledge on higher engineering technology to the professionals in
technology, students as well as the general public contains stalls,
providing information and knowledge on computer hardware and software,
electrical and electronic machines and accessories, chemical and
production processes among other matters. The total exhibits number over
10,000 items.
The organizers request the public to visit them by coming early to
see the exhibition which will continue till September 22 daily from 10
am to 8 pm Kandy Road Transport Authority has deployed special buses for
the convenience of the public that come to view the exhibition. Since
the academic schedule of the University cannot be disturbed the
exhibition will not be extended beyond September 22, the organizers
said.
