New Zealand Education fair on Saturday
Education New Zealand will hold the New Zealand Education Fair on
Saturday. This annual event, which serves as a showcase of New Zealand's
educational opportunities in the high standards of tertiary education
available, promises visitors an insight into this welcoming, inventive
and trusted educational destination.
Those aspiring to engage in higher education overseas will have the
opportunity to discover why New Zealand has emerged as the new
destination in the educational landscape.
The New Zealand Education Fair on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the
Main Ball Room, Hilton Colombo from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m., will feature ten
institutes of technology and polytechnics and four private training
establishments.
Education New Zealand CEO Robert Stevens commenting on the potential
that lies ahead said, "For a small country, New Zealand offers a
surprisingly wide range of subjects and courses in tertiary education.
"We have eight top quality Universities and twenty Institutes of
Technology and Polytechnics (ITPs) that focus on practical, skills-
oriented training in areas like hospitality and tourism, design,
computers, nursing, fashion and many others. Our private training
establishments are all quality controlled so students can be confident
that their qualifications will be recognized," he said.
Stevens said, adjusting to a new country takes time, so students
shouldn't expect it to be easy right away.
"They should take advantage of the excellent student support services
offered by New Zealand institutions, which can help with important
things like finding somewhere to live, opening a bank account and other
common day to day necessities," he said. |
