Keppitipola win Captain's Cup

The traditional and prestigious President's Cup / Captains Cup and A.
R. Aitken Cup tournaments were run concurrently over the weekend on the
fairways of the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club.
Though the numbers were comparatively less than expected, golfers
young and old walked on to the first tee with high spirits and much
enthusiasm to weather an impending storm on the first day and enjoy
this, much loved gentleman's game. Teeing up as early as 7.30 hours, 21
golfers participated on day one of Captain's Cup tournament. Mariner
Captain Nihal Keppetipola came in with a net 74 and 4 over to win the
Captains Cup on day one, with Ken de Alwis losing out only by 2 strokes
on the back nine.
On day two the President's Cup was teed off in typical Nuwara Eliya
weather.
Captain Nihal maintained a consistent round, coming in with a nett 77
to take home the President's Cup as well with (evergreen) Joe Perera,
coming off the 18th with a nett 78. In the Aitken Cup, Ken de Alwis came
in with the best nett Stableford score of 33 points on day one taking
the days glory from Nihal Keppetipola, with higher points on the back
nine.
However, Nihal sprung back on the second day with a nett 29 points
and a aggregate of 60 over the two days to win the A R Aitken Cup.
