Temporary halt to teacher transfers in NCP

North Central Province Chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayaka has ordered an immediate halt to all teacher transfers in the NCP till the December vacation this year saying any such transfers would affect students sitting vital examinations during the third term.

The Chief Minister said this order is applicable to both inter-provincial and intra-provincial transfers. The Chief Minister has also directed the Provincial Education Director and Zonal Directors to provide him with a list of schools having an excess teacher cadre in the city and suburban areas to enable him to devise a transfer plan to be implemented next year to fill shortages in schools without hampering the students' education.
