French couple sans visa nabbed in Galle

The Galle Police arrested a French couple Monday evening staying in Sri Lanka without visa.

The couple produced before Galle Magistrate were remanded until September 23. Police nabbed the two while loitering in Galle. Their visa had expired on September 4 and were unable to show valid reason for their stay in that area, police said.

Police said the man was a French national and was aged 42 and the woman from Madagaskar was 23 years and pregnant. They have been sent to the Mirihana Detention Camp.
