Colombo BC took a commanding 38-24 lead at half time with Jagath Kulatunga (15) and Roshan Randima (14) doing the bulk of the scoring. B. Sajith (18) and S. Sampath (15) figured in a vain effort for Police BC.

Meanwhile in the B division tournament Buffalos BC staged a good second half rally to beat SMI 59-52.

The winners were trailing 29-27 at the half way mark but came back strongly to turn the game in their favour through S. Silva (14) and E. Karunanayake (11).
