Colombo BC in 58-52 win

Colombo BC pulled off a close 58 points to 52 points victory over Sri Lanka Police BC in their Carlton Cup 2010 inter club basketball tournament ‘A’ division match worked off at the Depot Police Courts in Bambalapitiya yesterday.

Colombo BC took a commanding 38-24 lead at half time with Jagath Kulatunga (15) and Roshan Randima (14) doing the bulk of the scoring. B. Sajith (18) and S. Sampath (15) figured in a vain effort for Police BC.

Meanwhile in the ‘B’ division tournament Buffalos BC staged a good second half rally to beat SMI 59-52.

The winners were trailing 29-27 at the half way mark but came back strongly to turn the game in their favour through S. Silva (14) and E. Karunanayake (11).

In another ‘B’ division tournament fixture Old Bens BC had the better of Don Bosco by a convincing margin of 99-61 after having led 46-29 at half time. Sujith Gamlath (21) and Lalsiri (17) led the way for the winners while D. Fernando (18) and W. Akila (10) excelled for Don Bosco.
