Sri Lanka ‘A’ take major honours
Right arm off spinner Sachithra Senanayake picked up a five wicket
haul as Sri Lanka ‘A’ took major honours in their rain hit 1st
unofficial 4 day test match against the touring Pakistan ‘A’team which
ended in a draw at the Galle International Stadium yesterday.
Senanayake captured all five wickets in the Pakistan innings as the
visitors finished on 222 for 5 in reply to Sri Lanka’s first innings
total of 300 for 3 declared. Pakistan ‘A’ got off to a flying start with
the openers Manzoor and Ghumman putting on 91 runs.
Middle order batsmen Aamer Sajjad and Naeem Anjum then figured in an
unfinished sixth wicket partnership of 98 runs with both completing half
centuries. Both batsmen cracked six boundaries each. The second and
final four day unofficial test match will be worked off from September
15 to 18 in Hambantota.
