Man dead, mother injured in shooting incident

A furniture shop keeper was shot dead by two unidentified gunmen andhis mother was injured in the incident at Thalawa, Saturday.

Bamunuarachchilage Gnanaratne (47) the owner of a furniture shop was shot by two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle. The victim's mother Somawathi, 68, was shot on her leg. Gnanaratne received injuries to his stomach and died at the Anuradhapura hospital. Somawathi is not in a critical condition.

Investigations are continuing.
