Helicopter carrying Minister lands safely:
Pilot’s Skill Averts Imminent Crash

An imminent air crash to the helicopter carrying Co-operative and
Internal Trade Minister Johnston Fernando and a team of Indian Engineers
was averted due to the skills of the pilot on September 11.
The Minister and the Engineers who visited the paddy storage complex
in Ampara had got into the helicopter to go to Hasalaka in the evening.
A few minutes after taking off the helicopter developed engine
trouble at an altitude of 500 metres. However after a much attempt the
pilot has been able to land the helicopter safely. |
