Water project launched in Galewela

A water supply project was launched in the Lenawala village at
Galewela with the participation of Land Development Minister Janaka
Bandara Tennakoon recently. The project completed at a cost of Rs 5.3
million was in response to a long term need of the villagers who were
suffering from the lack of pure drinking water for a long time.
A sanitation project that constructed 95 toilets benefiting over 200
families was also handed over to the villagers. The second water supply
project carried out under the purview of the Central Provincial Council
has met water requirements for 30 Gramasewa Divisions out of the 59 in
the region. Therefore, 60 percent of water problems has been settled in
the Central Province, Minister Janaka Bandara said. |
