Ports and Aviation sector:

Beware of job canvassers

The Ports and Aviation Ministry has warned the public not be duped by persons offering employment opportunities in the Ports and Aviation sector especially in the Hambantota Port Project.

Since similar incidents are reported daily throughout the country, the Ministry requested the public not to give money to anyone offering employment in the Ports and Aviation sector.

When employment opportunities are available it will be communicated to the public through the media.

Job seekers are advised to follow a vocational training courses in the Ports and Aviation sector as such a training would be an definite advantage when employment opportunities arise.

There will be around 25,000 direct employment opportunities in the Ports and Aviation sector, especially after commissioning the Hambantota Harbour and the Mattala Airport. DA
