Sri Lanka 'A' win on D/L method
Sri Lanka 'A' kept their hopes alive of qualifying for the final
pulling off a thrilling seven runs victory on the Duckworth and Lewis
scoring method in their Tri Nation limited overs cricket tournament
match worked off at the P. Saravanamuttu Oval in Colombo yesterday.
Sri Lanka 'A' finished on 238 for 9 in 48 overs when bad light halted
play after Pakistan 'A' had piled up a challenging 241 for 6 from their
50 overs.
Opener Dimuth Karunaratne led the run chase with a splendid 106 from
115 deliveries inclusive of one six and nine boundaries. But it was all
rounder Seekuge Prasanna's 17 ball 30 studded with two sixes and four
boundaries that brought the home side closer towards their target.
Earlier middle order batsman Azad Shafiq hit a top score of 109 to
help Pakistan 'A' reach 241 for 6 from 50 overs after they had won the
toss and elected to bat first.
