SLFP major political force- Minister Premajayantha
The SLFP which was born in 1951 with the Pancha Maha Balavegaya has
become a major political force with the addition of several other forces
into it and it has been further stabilized by gaining 118 seats in
Parliament, said Petroleum Resources Minister and UPFA General Secretary
Susil Premajayantha in a message to mark the 59th anniversary of the
SLFP.
The message said it was the SLFP and its leader President Mahinda
Rajapaksa who wiped out terrorism which engulfed the nation for 30 years
and launched several short and long-term development projects to bring
back the fruits of development denied to the nation for the last 30
years.
Hambantota Port, Moragahakanda Reservoir, Kotmale and Norochcholai
power stations and super highways are some of the symbols of development
launched by the Government led by the SLFP.
The SLFP which has given leadership to UPFA victories in Parliament
and eight Provincial Councils has entered its golden era under the
leadership of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The SLFP which gave the leadership for victories achieved by the
people is a great source of strength to the other political parties in
the UPFA.
