Host of attractions at Jathika Govi Sathiya exhibition

The Jathika Govi Sathiya exhibition will feature several attractions,
Assistant Agriculture Director Consultant Dr Rohana Wijekoon said.
The Agro Technological Park which will be named Chamal Rajapaksa Agro
Technical Park covering 40 acres will feature an Agricultural Sales
Centre and an Agricultural Information centre.
The park has different sections. One is a crop museum and the other a
fruit orchard.
A demonstration of rainwater harvesting is also held. Another
attraction is a demonstration on the evolution of the paddy cultivation.
All demonstrations are held at trade stalls.
Among the stalls that draw crowds are the Herbal Garden and Bee
Keeping Unit. "The aim of the Jathika Govi Sathiya is to get the
participation of youth and make them a partner in this agricultural
endeavour," Agriculture Development and Agrarian Services Ministry
Project Director D M R B Dissanayake.
"The exhibition being held for the future generation to preserve the
continuance in the consumption of domestic food," National Food
Development Board Chairperson Kumudini Gunasekera said.
