Maligawatte dengue clean up today

The Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) will join hands with the Local Government and Provincial Council Ministry to clean up the Maligawatte housing scheme today.

CMC Special Commissioner Omar Kamil told the Daily News that as part of the Dengue Eradication Week, the CMC will engage in cleaning the Maligawatte housing scheme. He said a number of dengue cases were reported from this area. People at the Maligawatte housing scheme is in urgent need of a cleaning up of the area to minimize dengue risk.

Cleaning the Maligawatte housing scheme will be carried out under the direction of Local Government and Provincial Council Minister ALM Athaullah. Kamil said employees of the CMC Engineering Division and Public Health Department will be engaged in the cleaning program.
