Rains expected

The Northern part of the country would experience morning thunder showers within the next two to three days, while the rest of the country would experience afternoon thunder showers, Meteorologist Chaminda Silva told the Daily News yesterday.

An atmospheric disturbance had activated the monsoon rain conditions and it will last for about two to three days, he explained. Polonnaruwa experienced the highest rainfall of 38.7 millimeters on Thursday while Bowathenna had a rain fall of 16.9 millimeters and Ukuwela 16.2 millimeters, he said.
