Calling youth fashionistas

When you are modelling, you are creating a picture, a still life, perhaps something like a silent film. You convey emotion but you are only using your body. - Helena Christensen

The search is in to discover the Mister Sri Lanka for Mister International 2010 and the Sri Lankan representatives for Best Male and Female Model 2010.

Spearheaded by reputed fashion designer Brian Kerkovan with leading fashion model and directress of the V Academy and R&V Entertainments Vasana Danthanarayana the event aims at taking Sri Lankan youths to the global ramp.

The winners of the competition will take part in the Mister Mister International and International Best Male and Female Models 2010 competitions which will be held in Indonesia and Spain in October and November.

“We hope for more participants from outstation. Indian models have broken into the global modeling sector. We have so many good looking youths in the country. I don’t see any reason why our youngsters cannot make into the international fashion arena and walk shoulder to shoulder with other international models,” Kerkovan said.

He also stated that the world becomes a stage for those who had become successful models. First impressions count and it is up to individuals to take advantage of the fact and put it into practice in whatever target they hope to achieve.

“Some of our past winners have used the experience to better themselves. They are known faces in the fashion industry and cinema. They have learnt the knowhow on how to carry themselves off with grace and confidence,” he added.

“I want to share my experiences with the new generation and give them a part of what I have achieved throughout the years. It is a matter of letting the world know that we too have talented people,” she noted.
