Ministry to re-register Jaffna’s displaced students

The Higher Education Ministry will re-register over 500 displaced students in Jaffna who have applied for universities but did not enter universities.

This is in keeping with a Cabinet paper approved by the government to provide an opportunity to students in the Northern and Eastern Provinces , who are registered but could not pursue their studies and also for those who are qualified but would not get themselves registered for study courses due to conflict.

Higher Education Minister S. B. Dissanayake has instructed Northern and Eastern Provincial Universities to process students’ applications for university admission without delay, Ministry sources said.
