Iran goes nuclear
IRAN: Iran will continue enriching uranium for its peaceful
nuclear program after starting up operations in its Bushehr plant with
fuel supplied by Russia, for its future reactors, said a leading
legislator Saturday.
Alaedding Borujerdi, who chairs the Parliament’s Foreign and National
Security Commission, replied back to the White House spokesman Robert
Gibbs, who said Tehran doesn’t need to carry out a process of that type
by its own.
Russia will start supplying nuclear fuel August 21st for Iran’s first
reactor in Bushher.
The Parliament leader recalled that the legislative house had passed
a law demanding the Iranian Government to generate 20,000 MWs of energy
from nuclear power plants. This mean that the country must build 20
reactors like the one in Bushher.
For these plants we need fuel, therefore we ought to enrich uranium
and we’ll do it, Borujerdi stressed.
