PSD excel in tug of war competition

The All Island Open Tug of War competition organized by the Sri Lanka Tug of War Association was held at Welisara Navy Grounds recently.

24 teams including Army, Navy, Police, Seylan Bank and other sports clubs participated in the competition.

An under 23 team and 640 kg Middle Weight Team participated for the first time representing the President’s Security Division and became runners up in both competitions.

The competition inaugurated in 2004 was won by the Police team and thereafter this is the first occasion a Police team qualified for the final.
