Bus leasing on the rise

Around 100 buses are leased out by leasing companies every month emphasizing the huge demand for buses. Sales for motorcycles is on the increase and there is a good demand for three wheelers too, Leasing Association of Sri Lanka Chairman Sanjeewa Bandaranayake told Daily News Business.

“There has been a good demand for buses for a considerable period and a waiting list was created due to this,” he said. The leasing facility required for luxury vehicles is less since the owners are rich enough to buy without lease arrangements. Since there is a demand for unregistered vehicles, hire purchases are expected to go down.

The resettlement of leasing has slightly improved due to the regular cash flows of businesses that have also improved.
