Children's home for Mannar

Resettlement Minister Milroy Fernando laid the foundation stone for a children's home to house children who lost their parents during the war at Ilupaikulam, Chettikulam in Mannar recently.? This will cost about Rs 1.5 million.

The funds for home was provided by the Salvatorian Mission institutions from Rome, Canada, Philippines, and India, an official of the Resettlement Ministry said. Mannar Bishop Most Rev. Rayappu Joseph, Salvatorian Mission Director Rev. Father Andrew, and Rev. Sister Mary Galida also participated at the function.

The land for the Children's Home was allocated by the Government and the construction work of the home would be completed by the end of this year, the official said.
