Rs 650 m to develop Kathankudy hospital

The Health Ministry has developed the Kathankudi Hospital at a cost of Rs 650 million. The Ministry has spent Rs 450 million for the building complex and another Rs 200 million for modern medical equipment, a Health Ministry spokesman said.

According to the spokesman all buildings had been constructed in an environmental-friendly manner.

Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena conducted an inspection tour in the hospital recently to find out the needs of the hospital and stated that the development taken place in the Northern Province is unbelievable and he invited the public to visit the North and view the massive development drive launched by the Government.

The Minister invited parents to use the school holidays to visit the North and enjoy the its natural beauty and view the development activities from their own eyes.
