HR related initiatives:
IPM to be made recognized body

The Institute of Personnel Management (IPM) will be made a recognized
body for HR related initiatives by the Government to develop HR policies
of the country, the new IPM President Ajith R De Costa said at the
Annual General Meeting held in Colombo recently.
He said that the country is moving towards a new direction and HR
leaders should look at new opportunities creatively.
There are many unidentified HR related issues which can be
implemented effectively for the betterment of the country.
He has identified four key areas to make the institute stronger
during his tenure as the President.
Accordingly, the brand name of the IPM will be strengthened as the
most preferred brand for Human Resource Management in the country and
measures will be taken to strengthen international links by exploring
new ways and means to expand its international representation.
He said that relationships with other professional bodies, other HR
related institutions and private and public sector institutions will be
revived which will enable to get involved with the progressing economy
of Sri Lanka.
De Costa said the IPM vision is to be the guiding force and the
leader in developing best people management practices in the Asian
Region.
In order to achieve this vision proactively, the current programs
will be strengthened. He requested the fullest support of the membership
to achieve these objectives. |
