Afghanistan can solve its own problems

Iran: Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad said Thursday that neither the US nor NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) could solve the problems in Afghanistan.

During the 4th Summit of Persian-language countries in session in Tehran attended by the Presidents of Afghanistan and Tajikistan, Ahmadinejad said that only Afghanistan itself can solve its problems and that cooperation with Iran could contribute to the solution.

He added that assassinations of innocent Afghan civilians in their own country by foreigners are reported almost every day Ahmadineyad said that his country together with Afghanistan and Tajikistan could build a huge trilateral market of about 110 million people and boost trade cooperation to serve the interests of their peoples. Afghan President Karzai replied that his country is ready to broaden ties with Iran in several fields, including teachers’ training.

According to Karzai, trade with Iran reached US $1,500 million and expressed his government´s wish to strengthen bilateral trade ties. Tehran, Prensa Latina
