Bogus RMV operators remanded

The three suspects arrested by the Colombo Crime Division (CCD) in connection with operating a bogus RMV office in Colombo were produced before Colombo Additional Magistrate Mahee Wijeweera and remanded till August 17.

Colombo Crime Division DIG Anura Senanayake said the suspects were arrested by a special CCD team led by SP Lalinda Ranaweera and assisted by Chief Inspector Hemantha Dikovita, OIC CCD.

The team arrested the suspects with Rs 153,200, several plastic covers, bogus national identity cards, forged police clearance certificates issued to a number of people and a van in which they manufactured these forged driving licences.
