New bus stand for Kaduwela

A modern bus stand will be established in Kaduwela on the direction of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities Minister Wimal Weerawansa.

The Minister made this pledge after making an inspection tour on the present Kaduwela bus stand yesterday.

He felt that the present bus stand has no adequate facilities for passengers or for parking buses. Minister Weerawansa said that he will lay the foundation stone for the new bus-stand within one month and the construction of new building will be completed in 10 months.

It is believed that about 300 buses and over 10,000 passengers enter the Kaduwela bus stand daily and are inconvenienced due to inadequate facilities, specially during office hours.
