Amith Sumanapala joins Hayleys Leisure Holdings

The Hayleys Group has appointed Amith Sumanapala as Director/General
Manager of its Destination Management Company, "Hayleys Tours" effective
June 2010, which is the newest component of the conglomerate's Leisure &
Aviation Sector with extensive expansion plans in the near future. Amith
joins Hayleys with twenty four years of exceptional corporate
experience.
He began his career at John Keells Holdings as a tea taster and later
moved on to the transportation sector. In 1991, Amith was given the
challenging task of setting up the Group's first overseas office in
Singapore, heading the operation as one of the youngest managers in the
group at that time.
He then joined Walkers Tours to pursue his passion for travel and
destination management.
Building his career in the leisure management industry, Amith held
several senior managerial positions including Director Walkers Tours and
Keells Tours, Assistant Vice President at John Keells and headed the
Sales and Marketing functions of Walkers Tours and John Keells
Conventions.
He served the national carrier SriLankan Airlines as General Manager,
SriLankan Holidays, MICE and E-Commerce. |
