Four Grama Niladaris of Hatton Divisional Secretariat area who did not follow the guideline issued by the Election's Department in the tabulation of electoral lists have been transferred with immediate effect.

Nuwara Eliya District Secretary D Kumarasiri told the Daily News yesterday that according to certain complaints of householders the Grama Niladaris did not issue a receipt when the voters' forms and returned after filling them.

The forms which are filled in any language is acceptable according to Election Department guidelines. But these officers frequently put the voter in trouble by preventing them from entering their names in the voter lists specially in the plantation areas, Kumarasiri said.

The transfers were given subsequent to an inquiry and following Public Administration and Home Affairs Ministry instruction.
